Talia has a busy employment law and commercial litigation practice.  She frequently appears in the Employment Tribunal, Employment Appeal Tribunal, County Court and High Court. 

Talia acts for multinational corporations in the financial, insurance, technology, media, construction, retail and transportation sectors.  Talia also represents trade unions and public sector clients including universities, NHS Trusts, local authorities and the Metropolitan Police Service.  She was appointed a Member of the Panel of Counsel for the Commission of Equality & Human Rights in January 2011.

    Talia has extensive experience in employment law, including all areas of discrimination law, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, redundancy, equal pay, breach of contract, bullying and harassment, TUPE, Working Time Regulations, restrictive covenants and jurisdictional issues.  She has particular expertise in complex disability discrimination claims and high-value sex discrimination claims.

    Talia acts for multinational corporations in the financial, technology, construction, retail and transportation sectors, public sector clients including NHS Trusts and the Metropolitan Police Service as well as trade unions.  Talia also acts for claimants, particularly senior executives.  She represented the claimant in the high-profile discrimination case, Switalski v F & C Asset Management, led by Suzanne McKie QC. 

    Talia advises clients in relation to all areas of employment law. Recent advisory work includes advice on restrictive covenants and confidentiality, managing long term sickness absence and redundancy procedures.

    Talia frequently appears in the Employment Tribunal, the EAT and the High Court. She was appointed a Member of the Panel of Counsel for the Commission of Equality & Human Rights in January 2011.

    • Wincanton v Kevin De'Cort, EAT (2013) - represented the respondent in an appeal considering Polkey
    • M v BBC (2013) - represented the respondent in a 6 day disability discrimination claim
    • Lo Sicco v University of Arts (2013) - represented the respondent in a 6 day race discrimination claim in which costs were obtained against the claimant
    • L v British Airways (2012) - represented the respondent in a 10 day complex disability discrimination claim
    • Francis v Colt Technology (2012) - represented the respondent in a high level sex discrimination and constructive dismissal claim led by Suzanne McKie QC

    • successfully represented the claimant hairdresser in an application for a springboard injunction in the High Court
    • advised the claimant and drafted pleadings for a claim issued in the High Court for breach of restrictive covenants

    Talia's commercial practice encompasses all areas of professional negligence work.  She has recently advised and drafted pleadings in a number of professional negligence claims against solicitors, surveyors, architects and engineers. She acts for both claimants and defendants.

    Recent cases include:

    • advising a claimant developer in relation to a solicitor's negligence claim (approximately £500,000) 
    • acting for a claimant bringing a claim against solicitors in relation to a share transfer
    • acting for multiple claimants bringing claims against solicitors instructed to act in an unusual property transaction
    • acting for a defendant architect in a claim for negligence arising out of significant building works
    • advised the claimant and drafted pleadings for a negligence and breach of contract claim arising out of an employee's conveyance of property

    Talia has experience in a range of commercial matters, particularly professional negligence, insurance and reinsurance, commercial contractual disputes and jurisdiction.  She has experience in fast track and multi-track commercial cases in the County Courts and High Court. 

    Talia is expanding her professional negligence practice.  She has recently advised and drafted pleadings in a number of professional negligence claims against solicitors, surveyors, architects and engineers. She acts for both claimants and defendants.

    Talia is keen to develop further her insurance and reinsurance practice.  She has recently worked alongside Andrew Burns in a high value insurance claim brought under an Employers’ Liability Policy.

    Recent cases include:

    • successfully represented the defendant in an application for security for costs
    • successfully represented the claimant in an application for a springboard injunction in the High Court
    • advised the claimant and drafted pleadings for a claim issued in the High Court for breach of restrictive covenants
