International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution in the Oil & Gas Industry Workshop

Shaen Catherwood joins two expert practitioners sat the International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution in the Oil & Gas Industry workshop in Singapore on 13-16 February 2012.

This four day course addresses the causation of a dispute through contract uncertainty, the different forums and rules for dispute resolution, the methodology of the dispute process, the importance of the evidence, the art of settlement, the role of experts, arbitrators and judges, the fundamental of calculating damages, the advocacy skills required to achieve success and the enforcement of the award.

The final day of the course will focus on a mock arbitration before Shaen Catherwood.

Ingrid Simler QC chairs the Big Voice London 'Equality and Law' Event

Ingrid Simler QC will chair the 'Equality and Law' event  for the Big Voice London project. Run by legal volunteers, the project helps and empowers disadvantaged young people in London.

Ingrid Simler QC joins panel of outstanding professionals for the 'Women in Law' debate 

Ingrid Simler QC is a member of the panel for a national cross-profession debate entitled "Women in the Law" chaired by Eversheds this weekend.  The debate, which will take place as part of the  WOW - Women of the World Festival at the Southbank Centre will serve as a call for concerted action to increase the unacceptable female attrition rate across the entire legal profession.

The Women in law debate will take place on Saturday 12th March between 12 noon and 1.30 PM

Chaired by Karen Seward of Allen & Overy, Mohinderpal Sethi joins a distinguished panel of ten of the UK’s leading employment lawyers (including five heads of ‘magic circle’ employment firms). Tackling the question ‘Where does the Tullett Prebon case leave employers who wish to poach teams from competitors – with particular reference to economic torts such as conspiracy and inducing breach of contract?’ Tullett Prebon v BGC [2010] – Mohinderpal, who played a key role in advising the ‘Tullett 3’, was invited to provide a practical insight into this complex and developing area of High Court employment litigation.
