Ingrid Simler QC acts for Haringey Council in Baby P challenge
Ingrid Simler QC acted for the London Borough of Haringey in the recent High Court claim by Sharon Shoesmith against the Secretary of State for Education, Ofsted and the London Borough of Haringey.
Ms Shoesmith failed in her claims against the three defendants that her dismissal from employment as Director of Children's Services in Haringey was unlawful. Her dismissal followed a Joint Area Review conducted by Ofsted into the safeguarding of children in Haringey that was initiated as a direct consequence of the death of Baby P.
