Rob Weir QC is currently in the Court of Appeal acting for the families of servicemen killed in Iraq. The Court of Appeal (Lord Neuberger MR, Moses LJ and Rimer LJ) is considering whether the European Convention on Human Rights applies to soldiers abroad on active service, whether soldiers killed in Iraq enjoyed Article 2 rights and whether a claim in negligence can be brought arising out of the MoD's failure to provide suitable equipment for its soldiers.
