Alexander specialises in Personal Injury, Employment, and Commercial and Consumer Finance work. He appears regularly in courts and tribunals and has a busy advisory practice.

Alexander is a former chartered accountant and previously worked for the Bank of England’s Prudential Policy Directorate. He brings a wealth of prior professional experience to his briefs and lay clients have been impressed with his maturity, calm demeanour, and professionalism. Instructing solicitors have praised Alexander’s dedication and ability to rapidly identify the strengths and weaknesses of a case.

Alexander completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law, attaining distinction level marks in every subject and earning a Dean's Award. He also attained a distinction on the Bar course which he completed at City Law School.

  • Personal Injury

    Alexander is developing a busy personal injury practice. He has appeared in trials on the multi-track and fast-track involving: RTAs, employer’s liability, and occupiers’ liability. He also represents clients in CCMCs and advises on liability and quantum.

    Recent instructions include:

    • Successfully resisting an insurer’s argument that it could not be liable to a victim of a ‘hit and run’ on the basis of the principles established by Cameron v Liverpool Victoria Insurance Co Ltd ([2019] 3 All ER 1, UKSC);
    • Securing a judgment for a claimant in an occupiers’ liability case on the multi-track that beat the claimant’s Part 36 offer; and
    • Dealing with allegations of fundamental dishonesty.

    As a former chartered accountant, Alexander is adept at dealing with complex schedules of loss and analysing costs budgets.

  • Employment

    Alexander regularly appears in the Employment Tribunal on behalf of claimants and respondents in multi-day hearings. Alexander has conducted and been involved in investigations on behalf of employers.

    Recent instructions include:

    • Success in obtaining judgment for a claimant unfairly dismissed by an NHS Trust;
    • Success in having a claim dismissed for a respondent in relation to their handling of a flexible working request; and
    • Investigating allegations of failures by managers to adhere to policies, or otherwise reasonably ensure the wellbeing of staff, following an incident of customer violence in a retail setting.

    Alexander is presently instructed in a multi-day hearing for a respondent facing a complaint of discrimination arising from disability. He is also instructed to resist and appeal in the EAT.

    Alexander’s extensive prior experience working in both the public and private sectors, being managed and managing others, means that he applies a realistic perspective to his employment work that augments his legal analysis.

  • Commercial Litigation and Disputes

    Alexander has appeared in the High Court, led by Richard Harrison, and advised on insurance matters.

    He regularly represents consumers in claims relating to unfair relationships with lenders and insurers.

    Alexander has also recently obtained judgment for a consumer in the tort of bribery. During pupillage, under the supervision of Jonathan Butters, Alexander assisted Robert Weir KC, Jonathan Butters, and Thomas Westwell resisting the appeal to the Supreme Court in Johnson v FirstRand Bank Limited (t/a MotoNovo Finance) - one of The Lawyer's "Top 10 appeals of 2025".

    Alexander’s prior experience working with banks at the outset of his career and his knowledge of regulation stemming from his experience at the Bank of England is a major asset in this area of practice.
