Devereux is pleased to announce the election of Alice Mayhew KC as Head of Chambers.
Alice is a specialist in complex employment litigation and advisory work, particularly involving discrimination, equal pay, whistleblowing, employment rights, and breach of contract claims. Alice has been at Devereux since the beginning of her career in 2001, and was appointed Silk in 2022.
Alice will be taking over from Andrew Burns KC, who has served as our Head of Chambers since 2021; “It has been an honour to help steer Devereux Chambers, working first under the late Tim Brennan KC and then with Akash Nawbatt KC who was an excellent chair of our supervision committee for the last five years. Members and staff are delighted that Alice Mayhew KC has been elected as the new Head of Devereux Chambers and Shaen Catherwood as the new CSC chair. We look forward to these two wonderful colleagues helping us cement Devereux as a top tier set in its specialist areas and confidently leading us to new heights.”
Alice added “I am both delighted and humbled to have been elected Head of Chambers following in the footsteps of many great Heads of Chambers. Devereux is in fantastic shape, in large part due to the invaluable and tireless work of Andrew Burns KC, as head of chambers, and Akash Nawbatt KC as chair of the supervision committee over the last five years.
Together with Glenn Billenness, Director of Clerking and Business Development, and Shaen Catherwood, the new chair of the supervision committee, I look forward to continuing chambers success into the future”.
All at Devereux congratulate Alice and wish her the best of luck in her new role.
