Bruce Carr KC and Anna Greenley successful in obtaining interim injunction in relation to the Birmingham “bin strike”
On Friday, 23 May 2025, Bruce Carr KC and Anna Greenley obtained a High Court interim injunction on behalf of Birmingham City Council to restrain Unite pickets and protestors from blocking the passage of refuse collection vehicles leaving waste depots in Birmingham. The order granted by Mrs Justice Dias until a return date of Thursday, 29 May 2025, means that Birmingham City Council can now start clearing the approximately 12,800 tonnes of waste that has built up on the streets of Birmingham and return to a weekly collection service for citizens of the city.
