Bruce Carr QC and Andrew Burns in Laurence Stracey Memorial Debate
The sixth Laurence Stracey Memorial Debate, jointly hosted by Farrer & Co and the V&A will be held at the V&A's Lecture Theatre on 3 October.
Bruce Carr QC and Andrew Burns, have been invited to take part in this year's debate, opposing the motion proposed by Thomas Linden QC and James Laddie of Matrix Chambers that "Britain's strike laws are an affront to the rights of the working man". His Honour Judge Peter Clark, the highly respected EAT judge, and former member of Devereux Chambers, will oversee the contest.
The debate will explore what might regrettably by October be the topical subject of the UK's industrial action laws. The motion will consider the legislation which has probably led to more injunctions based on procedural failings than any other piece of employment legislation.
