Devereux listed for top case for 2012
One of Devereux’s insurance cases involving Colin Edelman QC has been named in the Top 20 cases for 2012 by “The Lawyer”. Every year “The Lawyer” reveals the leading trials to watch throughout the year ahead. The insurance case highlighted for 2012 is described as “possibly the largest coverage dispute to come before the Commercial Court in several years”. The case “concerns problems that occurred with a marine propulsion system known as the ‘Mermaid Pods’ system which was developed for use on cruiseliner vessels and oil rigs”. The case concerns claims in excess of £100 million against Rolls-Royce. The hearing is due on 19 March 2012 in the Queens’ Bench Division.
