ADR in injury cases

We recognise that the interests of our clients can often be better served by pursuing alternatives to litigation. Our members are active participants in the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process, whether as advisors, representatives or mediators and arbitrators.

We consider ADR, by means of mediation or arbitration, to be an integral part of the dispute resolution landscape. Through understanding the dispute from the perspective of the other side, our members can seek client-centred solutions. ADR can often provide a resolution to a dispute that appears to be intractable or where traditional financial solutions are not a complete answer. It is particularly effective where the costs of litigating are disproportionate to either or both sides to a dispute.

Our members have experience of all other types of ADR, including binding and non-binding neutral evaluation.

Robert Glancy KC, Robert Weir KC, and Stephen Cottrell sit as arbitrators for PIcARBS, the Personal Injury claims Arbitration Service. Robert Glancy KC is a practising CEDR accredited mediator.

HH Jeffrey Burke KC and HH Peter Clark, having retired from the judiciary, have rejoined Chambers as associate members to augment our alternative dispute resolution offering.
