Emily Bacon and Rob Schultz commence pupillage at Devereux

Devereux is delighted to announce that Emily Bacon and Rob Schultz have commenced their pupillage at Devereux.

Throughout the next 12 months, Emily and Rob will gain extensive experience across Chambers’ broad range of practice areas including tax, employment, personal injury, and commercial litigation.

Emily completed her undergraduate degree in History and Spanish at the University of Michigan, USA, where she graduated with honours in the top 7% of her class. She then went on to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Law and Bar Vocational Studies courses at City University in London.

Prior to commencing pupillage at Devereux, Emily gained extensive experience in employment law working as a paralegal at the international law firm Littler, and most recently, as a Caseworker at the Cleaners and Allied Independent Workers Union (CAIWU), where she successfully represented union members in the Employment Tribunal.

In addition, Emily gained advocacy experience with Quest Legal Advocates, representing clients in the County Court, as well with the School Exclusion Project, where she had a 100% success rate of overturning school decisions to exclude pupils on appeal.

Rob is transferring to the bar having been a Senior Associate at an international law firm in London. He came to London after completing an LLM in the United States in 2020 as a Fulbright Scholar. His UK litigation experience at US and City firms has focused on competition (antitrust) opt-out collective proceedings, and international arbitration disputes.

Rob began his litigation career as a Barrister and Solicitor at Lee Salmon Long, a Legal 500 Band 1 boutique litigation firm in New Zealand (2015-2019) where he acted as sole and junior counsel before the New Zealand courts and in commercial arbitrations.

Prior to commencing practice, Rob completed a two-year judicial clerkship at the Court of Appeal of New Zealand, clerking for the Hon Justice Sir Douglas White KC (2013-2014).

All at Devereux warmly welcome both Emily and Rob, and wish them the best of luck throughout their pupillage.
